Allison is over the rainbow

A DISPLAY of colourful stones to remember the Covid-19 lockdown has been created in Ecclefechan.

Allison Menzies, manager of the village’s day centre, wanted to create a tribute to the NHS and have a lasting reminder of the community spirit during difficult times.

A special cabinet has been made for the display, thanks to George Callander, and put in place outside the day centre, thanks to Steven Speight. It features stones of all shapes and sizes painted by Allison’s friends and local children.

During the lockdown, Allison has also taken the opportunity to give the inside of the day centre a make over for when users return. One wall features a rainbow mural as a nod to Covid-19 and the work of the NHS.
