Alcohol Awareness Week message

ADVICE and support is available in the region to mark this year’s Alcohol Awareness Week.

It runs until Sunday and the theme is ‘alcohol and work’.

The area’s alcohol and drug partnership, ADP Dumfries and Galloway, say it’s an opportunity to open a conversation about the link between alcohol and work.

A spokesperson said: “Whether it’s long hours, stress or pressure to drink at team socials or blurred boundaries between work and home, there are many ways work and alcohol are linked.

“On tough days, it can be tempting to turn to alcohol to try to cope with stress or anxiety but this can worsen the symptoms and make us feel worse the next day.”
