Academy prepares for Burns bash

DUMFRIES Academy is preparing to host its annual Burns Supper. Organised by the parent council, school partners and pupils the event showcases the talents of pupils and brings the school community together in celebration sharing in traditional Burns’ celebrations including a two-course supper, recitations, reflections, musical performances and dancing. Among the guests this year are Dr Gillian Brydson, Executive Director of Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing and Hugh McMillan, Poet and former teacher of Dumfries Academy. Pupil performances include a recitation from Teigan Weir who has a distinguished record in regional and national Burns Competitions.
