PRAISE has been heaped on Lochmaben residents for their work to upkeep the burgh's 104-year-old war memorial.
At last week’s meeting of Lockerbie and Lochmaben common good fund sub committee, Annandale North member Carolyne Wilson highlighted the local efforts and dedication.
And council leader Stephen Thompson added: “The town has really taken its own sort of responsibility for the war memorial, and so I’m happy to support Councillor Wilson in us recognising that.”
Meanwhile, the elected members also approved the removal of four large trees near the site.
