£175k cocaine haul
A MAN has been arrested and charged after police found £175,000 worth of drugs in a car near Moffat. The 29-year-old was stopped by patrol officers at 9.45 am on Wednesday on the northbound carriageway of the A74(M) near to Moffat. An estimated £175,000 of cocaine was recovered. The driver is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court today, Thursday. Commenting on the find, Detective Inspector Wilson said: “This was a significant recovery of drugs which have now been removed from our streets. “Drugs are a blight on our community, and we remain committed to disrupting their supply. “We encourage anyone with information or concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
