Use your vote

Section:  Annan and Eskdale, Dumfries and West, Lockerbie and Lochmaben, Moffat  | Tags: , , ,

IT’S polling day in the local government elections and DNG Media are urging all voters to make it count.

USE YOUR VOTE . . . two Moffat octogenarians, who have got scores of elections under their belts, are urging others to vote today.
Alastair Barr, 83, left, and Alastair MacDonald, 82, who are residents at Bankfoot House in the town, are firm believers in the democratic process and have already cast their postal votes in this week's local government elections.
And with polling taking place across the region today, the duo are urging voters of all ages to hurry to the ballot box and chose their new councillors.
Keep an eye on our website, www.dng24.co.uk, tomorrow for all the area's election results and follow us live on Twitter through the day at @dng24

Polling stations will be open across the region up until 10 pm tonight – but thousands of people have already sent in their postal votes, like Alastair Barr, 83, pictured above left with Alastair MacDonald, 82, both from Moffat.

The count takes place at the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries tomorrow and our reporting teams will be there covering the results. Keep an eye on this website tomorrow, as well as our Facebook page and Twitter feed (@dng_24) for the latest and to find out who your new councillors are.
