A MOTHER accused of neglecting her three children aged from 2 to 11 has been made the subject of a community payback order to be under supervision for 18 months.

The woman from Castle Douglas, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted leaving the youngsters in a house that was extremely cluttered and unclean and with the youngest unclothed and unclean.
Dumfries Sheriff Court heard that the 28-year-old wilfully neglected the children last December in conditions likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to their health, with rubbish covering floors and surfaces, exposed litter trays, heaters with no guards and beds with sharp edges exposed.
