LOCKERBIE golfers Rae and Janice Carruthers have qualified for the final of a Unique PING Mixed Event at Gleneagles.

They are one of five pairings from the South who are looking forward to competing in the final after coming through qualifying for the PING Scottish Mixed Championship, to be staged at Gleneagles. An exciting new addition to Scottish Golf’s national events calendar this season, 40 club pairings have won at local level to book their place in the showpiece final on Monday September 18 on the Queen’s Course.
The Lockerbie pair will be joined by four other teams from the South, with Sanquhar’s (Stuart Biggar and Edith Geddes) finishing in a share for third spot in qualifying on 42 points. Wigtown & Bladnoch (Tom Simpson and Debbie Gunby), Stranraer (Neville and Jackie Wright), and Wigtownshire County (Kyle McClung and Gwen Robson) who also sealed final spots.
