Dumfries date for Bay City Rollers

SEVENTIES boy band sensations The Bay City Rollers will perform in Dumfries next year as part of the Big Burns Supper, it was announced today.

The tartan trew wearing singers, famed for hits like Bye Bye Baby, Shang-A-Lang and I Only Wanna Be With You, will headline the Spiegeltent on Saturday January 23.
Event artistic director Graham Main said: “It’s time to squeeze back into the tartan trousers and sing along with some of the catchiest songs of the seventies.
“We’re absolutely ecstatic to be welcoming Les McKeown and the Bay City Rollers to Dumfries. It’s our festival’s fifth birthday and we thought it would be great celebrate with a bit of Rollermania.
“For those who remember them the first time round, it will bring back so many fantastic memories. And for those who weren’t there at the time it’s a chance to have some real fun getting a taste of what made Scotland bop in the Seventies.”
Other acts will include Black Grape, Jason Byrne, The Beat and Eddi Reader, Mongolian musicians Anda Union, Irish vocalist Camille O’Sullivan, the Scots trad Treacherous Orchestra, comedian Andrew Maxwell and Irish folk act the Dublin Legends.
