Real Deal in Dumfries

A POPULAR antiques TV programme will be filming in Dumfries at the end of the month.

Presenter, and expert, David Dickinson and the Real Deal team will be at Thomson Roddick Auctioneers and Valuers at Irongray Road on Tuesday November 29.

They will be filming a segment for the show, in which contestants vie to make the most at auction.
The Dumfries sale will be overseen by auctioneer Sybelle Thomson.
She notes “a number of interesting items” have been consigned to auction, including an attractive painting by George Wright of Annan, a novel walking cane with a silver handle in the form of a vesta case and match striker, a silver-mounted mace to commemorate the rebuilding of the Glasgow Theatre Royal in 1867 and an unusual set of glass hydrometer weights.
The sale takes place at 10.30am and with viewing the day before, Monday November 28.
