Anger at excrement find

THE chairman of Moffat Community Council has been shocked by the mess left by some lorry drivers in the town.

Bob Opray says human excrement has been found near the Co-operative supermarket and he’s calling for action to be taken.

Lorries regularly park in the area, despite it not having service facilities, and Mr Opray said that as well as leaving human excrement, there has been damaged to kerbs and the surrounding ground.

He said: “Lorries have parked there for some time and there have been incidents when human excrement has been found in bushes.

“In the latest incident paper and human excrement was found on the pavement, which is really disgusting.”

He added: “I’ve reported the matter to the council and I hope that something can be done about it.

“Obviously some drivers are sleeping in their cabs and in the morning they need to go to the toilet.

“ It’s not something we want in a tourist town.

“There has been damage to the kerbs and the grass and ground has been compacted.”
