Dog attack witness call

A DOG attack in Annan this week has led to a police appeal for witnesses.

A 16-year-old girl and her German shepherd dog were both bitten on Tuesday afternoon while out walking.
It happened at about 2 pm on the pathway that runs along the side of the River Annan and also involved a grey coloured bull mastiff type dog.
The girl met a couple walking their dog, a bull mastiff, however both dogs were off their leads at this point.
As the dogs met, the bull mastiff bit the German shepherd, and as the female tried to intervene and stop the dogs she herself suffered injuries, but she did not require medical treatment.
After the incident the couple with the bull mastiff left the scene.
The police are now trying to trace the man and woman. He is described as being white, in his 50s, bald and was wearing a shirt, baggy jeans and boots.
The woman is described as being black, in her 30s, wearing shorts, a waistcoat and a hat.
Anyone who may be able to help trace this couple, or indeed the couple themselves, are asked to call police at Annan on 101.
