Man jailed for gun-point robbery

A MAN has been jailed for six years after a father was held up at gunpoint in his own home.

JAILED . . . Dean McMenamin

Dean McMenamin from Annan targeted Mark Stewart at his property in Ecclefechan in February this year.

Mr Stewart was threatened and ordered to hand over £9,000 after McMenamin forced his way in.

The 25-year-old had denied being involved during a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

But he was last Thursday found guilty of the assault and robbery as well as possessing an air pistol.

Tattooed McMenamin smiled and winked to a friend in court as he was led handcuffed to the cells after the conviction.

David McKay, 32, was also charged with being involved, but the jury returned not proven verdicts.
